Our Beliefs

Who are We?

We are an inclusive community of work-in-progress who want to participate in something more than ourselves through faith, love, grace, and compassion.

We believe this is what Jesus is all about.

Together we worship, live in community, explore what it means to be human, live life to the fullest, and strive to make this world more like the one God made it to be.

On Being Open and Inclusive:

We are a church that affirms God lovingly created each of us, and we are each beautifully and wonderfully made. We therefore believe God is for all kinds of loving, faithful and monogamous relationships, regardless of whether they are straight or LGBTQ. We happily offer marriages for all couples who opt for loving, faithful, and monogamous relationships.

We welcome and accept people of all sexualities, generations, cultures, ethnicity, race, background, & history. We strive to be like God's world where there are no divisions and labels, but only love, acceptance and welcome.

While beliefs and values within the United Church of Canada can be quite diverse, we find ourselves more or less in the middle. The New Creed (United Church) is one statement of faith from the United Church we believe represents what you'll find here.

Vision and Values

The New Creed (United Church)

We are not alone,
we live in God's world.

We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.

In life, in death,
in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.
